history / background
Feb. 15th, 2016 06:37 pmShim Youngmin was born into the world as a gumiho— or a fox spirit. He led a long life as such— preying on women and men both, to fuck then eat them. He lived for about 300 years doing this, even though he never really enjoyed the process much. He had a close group of friends who always sort of mocked him for this, but also always left him victims that at least seemed to be a little more into the whole "getting eaten by a sexy fox demon" thing. So they thought he was weird, but they still indulged him because they all loved him. Youngmin was always a really genial, friendly guy, who wasn't necessarily popular with everyone due to his reluctance to really get down and dirty like a good gumiho should.
Eventually, though, even his friends who indulged him couldn't keep back the disapproval of the leaders the group, and they cast him out. At this point, Youngmin realized that he didn't have to eat human flesh at all, so he decided to not partake anymore. After 1000 days, in which he got extremely hungry and mostly tried to survive semi-unsuccessfully on plants, he eventually turned human.
Eventually he made his way to Seoul proper, and managed to find employment with a tiny dance company, partially due to the fact that he still kept his handsomeness and also because he really could dance. The owner of the studio currently lets him stay there overnight as well, since he explained it away as being extremely poor and being kicked out by his parents because they didn't approve of him dancing. Basically all of the money he earns at the dance company goes to feeding himself, but in a strange way, he's happier than he ever was as a gumiho.
